Jade Esparaza, General Manager for Best Buy, spoke to ABC Action News regarding the latest store attraction. No, it isn’t the newest gadget, iPad, iPhone or computer but rather the pair camped out in front of the store on the pavement, in a tent. And yes, it is still hot in Florida (throughout the day anyway) and as you can clearly see in the video below; it’s a bit uncomfortable for Tido Hernandez and his lady friend who’ve decided that they will be first in line for the St. Petersburg Best Buy doorbusters despite all costs. The pair said they set up camp on November 14, 2011 and will stay until Thanksgiving afternoon; after they get their day of shopping in.
Apparently, Jade Esparaza is thrilled (and why wouldn’t he be as it’s great for business), and invited more to come out. Best Buy has made no hesitation of admitting they are in heavy competition this year as they made the controversial decision to begin Black Friday on Thursday. A move competitors quickly followed amongst protests of retail workers who’d rather stay home feasting on turkey and lounging in front of their televisions watching football.
What do you think of the pair? Are they smart, savvy shoppers or crazy?
